REYNA ushers in the holiday season with new single, music video, ‘Home Alone’
The sister duo tapped into childhood memories with a new single celebrating wintertime wonder.
The sister duo REYNA embraced the holiday season last week with a new single, music video, “Home Alone” — released Nov 26.
With festive, wintertime imagery, the new single follows lyrics of loneliness during the holiday season and sentiments of not wanting to be “home alone” during this time of the year.
A love song and pop ballad, “Home Alone” communicates longing during the winter months through the strides of a holiday radio hit.
The single is accompanied by a music video, featuring home footage of the REYNA sisters during holiday gatherings of years long past.
Past storytelling purposes, the new single’s title acts as a reference to the popular holiday film of the same name, another mark of nostalgia embedded in the release.
The Mexican-American electro-pop duo did not waver upon their new release. The group picked up where they left off with “Quarantine Baby” from this past October.
Continuing themes from “Quarantine Baby” — a single examining love during times of social distancing — the new single examines the holidays from a similar perspective.

The REYNA sisters explained in a statement that, during this time last year, they were spending quite a bit of time at home:
“I always get super nostalgic during the holidays missing our family in Texas and Mexico and last year it was much more amplified because there really wasn’t even a possibility to travel to see them,” explained the REYNA sisters.
Speaking from a point of isolation during mid-winter, imagery of decorated trees outside their window inspired this REYNA song, putting into words the loneliness they felt.
“I just wanted to be curled up on a couch with all of my favorite people watching Home Alone. It felt like the most comforting thing in the world yet something that was so out of reach at the time,” continued REYNA.
As the world strives for a sense of togetherness amid relentless challenges, the moments where people may gather safely now matter the most.
The new holiday single from REYNA is available now via streaming.
