'Sinergia,' the new album by Myriam Hernández produced by Jacobo Calderón
Hernández is known for being one of the greatest producer of ballads in the last three decades
Dressed in a white suit with a long skirt, Myriam Hernández looks inspired on the cover of her new album Sinergia, which will be her ninth studio album. The Chilean singer-songwriter and television presenter, who began her career in the late 1980s, intends to show that she is still in shape and eager to continue contributing her passion to Latin music.
Hernández is known for being one of the greatest producers of ballads in the last three decades. Her third studio album, III (released in 1992), was recorded alongside legendary Spanish composer Juan Carlos Calderón. Now, 30 years later, his son Jacobo Calderón was the one who lended his talent for the composition and production of the album.
According to a press release, the title of the new album is inspired by the artistic connection experienced with the Spanish producer and the collaborators who participated in the writing process of the 11 songs that make up his new album. It will be the successor of her previous project Seduction (released in 2011). "Admired by artists such as Karol G, Camilo Sesto and Javier Mena," reads the promotional text, which also defines Hernández as "one of the most admired female voices in Latin America."
Over the last few months, she premiered music videos for songs like "Hasta aquí," "Te quiero, te amo" and "Ya es tarde," which has more than 7 million views on YouTube. If the entire album follows the line of these songs, romantic pop and ballads will dominate the song list, although with the introduction of new instruments and sounds to accompany the Chilean's very personal voice.

Regarding the younger Calderón, a regular collaborator with Raphael and David Bisbal, the singer said that “it was a surprise, first because of the love and friendship I had with her father, but then when we met him our feeling appeared immediately. He gave me some song proposals that were decisive for the idea of recording a new album. After four years of composition, I am very proud and surprised with the result, I think it is the bravest and brightest album of my career.”
The production of Sinergia was carried out between studios in Madrid and Miami, and had the contribution of the Bratislava Symphony for string arrangements, engineer Boris Milan and mastering by Caco Refojo.
The album, which was produced during quarantine, includes the song "Bailemos en la oscuridad," a demo that Juan Carlos Calderón recorded and found in a lost box. As a whole, the lyrics of Sinergia try to shed light, hope, and a positive message “inspired by love.”
The songs from Hernández's new album are being presented during her tour, and she has already performed them on stages in the United States, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Peru. On Saturday, June 11, she will perform at the Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile, and will continue visiting Latin American countries. In October, she will return to perform in the U.S.
