After a resounding success in a Tiny Desk session and at the globalFEST festival on public radio in North America, the Palenquero group Kombilesa Mí returns to the United States with its Ri Palenge Pa to Paraje 2022 tour, which kicks off in Houston, Texas with a sold-out concert.

Ri Palenge Pa to Paraje aims to show the Afro-Bolivarian and Caribbean identity through African rhythms and drums. According to Afroneto, leader of the group, this is the most emblematic project of Kombilesa Mí's music career, a tour that will show Palenquero folkloric rap to the world.

"We are culture, tradition, talent and tastiness, we represent the Palenque de Benkos, we arrived in the United States, to represent on high, our people and territory, and especially the color of our race. I thank everyone who supported us and built this collective dream, to show our music," said Afroneto, leader and founder of the group.

Kombilesa Mí is one of the most creative and vibrant groups in Colombia. Their union of Palenquera music, language and culture with hip-hop has produced a powerful mix full of flavor and strength. Drum beats, rapping in Palenquero and all the attitude and power of the heritage of the first free Black people of America, are the elements this group uses to conquer the world.

"It is a pride for Bolivar, to have a group representative of our culture and Palenquero identity before the world, are their talents, projection and discipline, the key to achieve dreams and go far, I congratulate all its members," said Ivan Sanes, general director of the Institute of Culture and Tourism of Bolivar (ICULTUR).
