Kendrick Lamar to Headline 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show
Rap icon Kendrick Lamar will take center stage at the Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2025, promising an unforgettable performance.
Kendrick Lamar, the 17-time Grammy-winning rap superstar, will headline the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show on February 9, 2025, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. The NFL, Apple Music, and Roc Nation announced Lamar’s highly anticipated performance, which will bring hip-hop back to the Super Bowl stage.
Lamar, known for his profound influence on music and culture, previously appeared as a guest performer during the 2022 Super Bowl alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent, and Eminem. Now, he’s ready to take the lead.
“Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date,” Lamar said in a statement. “And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.”
Lamar, 37, first made waves with his 2012 debut album, “good kid, m.A.A.d city,” and went on to win a Pulitzer Prize for his 2017 album “DAMN.” His latest release, “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers,” continues to showcase his talent, with hits like “Like That” reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Roc Nation founder Jay-Z praised Lamar as a “once-in-a-generation” artist whose work transcends music and influences global culture. “His deep love for hip-hop and culture informs his artistic vision,” Jay-Z said.

The halftime show will be co-executively produced by Roc Nation and Emmy-winning producer Jesse Collins. Creative direction will be handled by pgLang, a company Lamar co-founded with Dave Free.
NFL’s head of music, Seth Dudowsky, highlighted Lamar’s ability to create defining moments that reshape hip-hop, saying, “Time and time again, Kendrick has proven his unique ability to craft moments that resonate, redefine, and ultimately shake the very foundation of hip-hop.”
Lamar’s performance follows Usher’s star-studded 2024 halftime show, which featured guests like H.E.R., Jermaine Dupri, and Alicia Keys. Oliver Schusser, vice president of Apple Music and Beats, called the Super Bowl Halftime Show a celebration of incredible artists and the music we love on the world’s biggest stage.
Lamar’s upcoming performance promises to be a landmark moment in Super Bowl history, underscoring his status as a trailblazer in music and culture.
