Karol G is Interscope Records’ newest signing
The global Colombian superstar's signing keeps her with the Universal Music Group, the label in which she released her four albums.
Karol G is now signed to Interscope Records, the record label announced earlier this week.
As a new signing for Interscope Records, she remains under the Universal Music Group, the umbrella label under which she released her four albums since originally signing in 2016.
“We are thrilled to welcome her into the IGA family and look forward to working with her and her team on the next phase of her incredible career,” said Interscope CEO John Janick in a statement.
Karol G now joins other powerhouses signed to Interscope Records, including names like Billie Eilish, Lana Del Rey, and Lady Gaga. She also joins fellow Latina artists such as Kali Uchis, Selena Gomez, and Cuco.
The Colombian reggaeton star has made several headlines over the past few years.
Her latest album, Mañana Será Bonita, recently became the first all-Spanish album by a woman artist to debut at number 1 on the Billboard 200 list.
In a statement, Karol G noted that her most recent album marked a new era for her and her career.

“I’m continuously amazed at the support my fans gave me, which motivates me to deliver the best of me, and I’m certain that this partnering with Interscope and their incredible team will help us continue building and making history. I’m thrilled to see what’s to come,” she said.
Throughout her career, Karol G has generated nearly 80 billion global music streams, and has shown an ability to sell out stadium shows consistently. As a result, she has established herself as one of today’s most successful Latina music artists in the world.
“Karol G is without a doubt one of the most powerful, creative and dynamic artists in the world,” said Janick.
She is no stranger to breaking records, as her debut album, Unstoppable, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart. Karol G has amassed 2 Billboard Music Awards, 3 Billboard Latin Music Awards, 2 Latin Grammy Awards, and 9 Latin American Music Awards, among several others.
The news of the signing to Interscope also comes less than two months before she is set to make history as the first Latina artist to headline Lollapalooza, one of the longest-running music festivals in the country.
“Our partnership with Karol and her team dates back to the beginning of her career, and it has been a thrilling journey filled with incredible music,” said Sir Lucian Grainge, Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group. “She is simply one of the most exciting artists in popular music today and we’re honored she has chosen to deepen her partnership with UMG for many more years to come.”
