Natalia Jiménez plans an international tour to celebrate her 20-year career
The author of songs like "Creo en mí", "Sueños rotos", "Quédate con ella" and "Daria" has experienced several ups and downs during her career
The Spanish singer Natalia Jiménez, who in 2001 led the band La Quinta Estación and later went solo, will celebrate her 20-year musical career with an international tour.
The artist is planning a tour that will begin on August 20 in Puerto Rico, and will then go through Mexico, the United States, Chile, Argentina, Venezuela and her native Spain. As she confirmed, her repertoire will combine the pop songs of La Quinta Estación with her most current compositions as a soloist, where she has explored regional Mexican music.
Jiménez lived in México for eight years, before moving to Miami and launching her own solo career. With her debut as a solo artist she received the nomination for “Female Artist of the Year” at the Billboard Awards, and in 2012 she won the Lo Nuestro Award for “Revelation of the Year”.
Jiménez, who keeps intact her youthful appearance and her desire to act, can’t believe that 20 years have passed since she started in the world of music. In an interview with the AP agency, she commented that "when you reach the age where you can count from 20 to 20, one perceives that life is moving forward”. She feels "super proud" of her career, and her wish for this anniversary is that "people continue to love me like the first day".
The author of songs like "Creo en mí", "Sueños rotos", "Quédate con ella" and "Daria" has experienced several ups and downs during her career. She explained the reasons that influence the creative process: “it depends a bit on how inspired you are, how much your record company supports you, what demand there is for someone like you in the market”.

The Spaniard acknowledges that she had moments when she seriously thought about leaving her career, but in the end "I have always been very persevering and I have always tried to reinvent myself." In addition, she had to overcome the prejudices of the record industry, where the age and physique of women are constantly questioned. However, she clarified that "now it is normal to see older people working."
Her achievements probe her hard work: she has sold more than three million records in her career, and she has recorded duets with stars like Marc Anthony, Daddyy Yankee, Ricky Martin and others. In addition, she has participated as a presenter in various television reality shows, such as "La Voz México" and "La Voz Kids USA".
After the publication of “México de mi corazón, Vol.2” in 2021, Jiménez is already planning her next album, an anthology where she will review her 20-year career. "We are going to revert them (her songs) and give it a new touch with Cheche Alara, who is a super producer," she confirmed. The new album, which will probably be titled “Antología: 20 años de Natalia Jiménez”, will focus on her pop roots.
About the show that she’s planning for the tour, she said that it will be a kind of time-line that will reflect “all the stages of my career”. Everything indicates that Natalia Jiménez has the strength to continue on stage for many years.
