Jose Luis Perales, legendary singer and composer, shared in an interview with EFE, that after having spent some "tremendous" months due to the health crisis "we are starting to see the light, and it is important for people to do this kind of activities." Although he thinks that it is a time to "raise our hands a little, as long as we are careful," he affirmed that "it is not well understood to be free for certain attitudes that are sometimes seen, but freedom in respect and care for others, for the good of all."

The singer is convinced that the lifting of restrictions cannot be taken lightly, as the crisis is not over. He reminded that we have to walk with lead feet "with this damned bug that is stalking us around," but reminded us of the importance of being able to enjoy music, travel, "this thing called freedom, but with responsibility and care."

Perales left a tour interrupted by the pandemic in March 2020, and will resume it on July 28.

He confessed that during these months he has felt pain for everything that has happened, for the people who have died and for those who have seen their relatives buried.

The singer is facing a farewell tour, with more than 70 concerts scheduled in Spain, the United States and Latin America, but he affirmed that he will not give up music completely. However, he considers it better to say goodbye to live music now.

"I'm not going to quit music because I couldn't, but it's time to take a break."

The 76-year-old singer said that besides dedicating himself to his hobbies such as pottery, gardening and writing during the pandemic, he continues to write some songs that he hopes may soon see the light of day.
