Cazzu publishes "Jefa", the first single of her new album
Cazzu intends to show that Argentina is becoming one of the largest trap factories in Latin America
The first moments of the new video clip of the Argentinian singer Cazzu could serve as the promotion of a new season of "La casa de papel", the popular Spanish Netflix series that conquered the world. Along with a group of dancers, Julieta Emilia Cazzuchelli (original name) appears armed with modern assault rifles and a defiant pose. With "Jefa", the first single of her new album "Nena Trampa", she pretends to revive the trap genre, since she considers that is living "a moment in which it is overshadowed by reggaeton".
Cazzu intends to show that Argentina is becoming one of the largest trap factories in Latin America. Despite her claim, she began to compose songs of other genres, such as rock or cumbia. It was with her her first album “Maldades” (2017) when she promoted this genre, which at that time was still an underground phenomenon.
Her rise to fame was thanks to the remix of "Loca" with Khea, Duki and Bad Bunny. The single obtained millions of views on YouTube and Spotify, and is known as the song that opened the Argentinian urban music scene to the world.
The artist commented after the launch of the provocative video clip that “although the album contains several genres, the trap is presented in the first songs as a concept, but I also tried myself into the fields of drill and malianteo”.

The lyrics of “Jefa” make it clear that she intends to establish herself as a leader of the urban scene: “the boss of the whole block, without fear or shame I continue to empower. Everything is mine, if there is no agreement there is a bullet”. The threat could not be more evident, as well as the apology for the use of firearms.
Last year, her song “Sobre mi tumba” was the original soundtrack for the Netflix series “El Reino”. Nico Cotton was in charge of the production of that song, and now he repeated as producer of the new album.
Soon, Cazzu will demonstrate her good shape with a world tour that will take her to Latin America, the United States and Spain. In the last edition of the Lo Nuestro Awards, she was nominated for "Female Artist of the Year - Urban" and "Collaboration of the Year" for her single "Dime Donde".
The Argentinian probed her ability to fuse genres in her previous single “Castigo”, where she introduced elements of traditional reggaeton. Along her powerful female voice, she chose male choirs to complement the lyrical parts.
Cazzu's wants to exceed her good live performances in 2021, where she stood out at events such as the Uforia Latino Mix festival in Housten (Texas). Back then, she managed to fascinate the 20,000 attendees, on a stage shared with other big names in urban music such as J Balvin, Ozuna, CNCO or Rauw Alejandro.
