Omicron could postpone the 2022 Grammys
The 2022 Grammy Awards ceremony could be affected by the major increase in COVID-19 infections with the Omicron variant.
There is a rumor that the 2022 Grammy Awards will be postponed for a few months due to the increase of cases brought by the Omicron variant in Los Angeles. However, the organization behind the event has yet to confirm.
Last year, the ceremony had to be re-thought and held outdoors to happen. However, this year, the awards ceremony could be delayed for a couple of months. There is speculation that the event scheduled for Jan. 31 could be moved to late March or early April.
According to the platform Showbiz, CBS and The Recording Academy are looking for alternatives like last year, and began the search for new outdoor venues. If a new venue has been secured for the original date and the weather is favorable, the event is expected to take place. The Hollywood Bowl is one of the possible venues for this year's edition.

Now, the main challenge facing the organizers will be to confirm the artists who will participate in the ceremony. Because with the spread of the virus, it must be confirmed if they will be available and able to take the stage.
Due to the explosion of cases, many shows have already been affected and have rescheduled dates throughout 2022.
