Highest-earning Latino and Hispanic celebrities
Fewer than 10 people of Latino or Hispanic descent made Forbes’ “Celebrity 100 2017.”
With Forbes' "Celebrity 100 2017," the publication analyzed the 100 highest-earning celebrities of last year. Although Latinos and Hispanics were notably underrepresented, a handful made the list.
To compile the rankings, Forbes used information collected between June 2016 and June 2017.
#77 Fernando Alonso
The 36-year-old Spanish Formula One racing driver earned $36 million.
#71 Neymar
At only 25, the Brazilian footballer gained $37 million last year.
#65 Jennifer Lopez
J. Lo, the New York-born Puerto Rican singer, performer and actress, saw a monetary increase of $38 million.
#60 Bruno Mars
Born Peter Hernandez, this eclectic, Grammy-winning artist has a diverse ethnic background that includes Puerto Rican roots. He earned $39 million last year.
#58 Sofía Vergara

Before his history of sexual misconduct came to light, the Mexican-American comedian earned $52 million last year.
#14 Lionel Messi
At $80 million, this 30-year-old Argentinian footballer was the highest earning Latino celebrity of 2017.
Honorable mention: Coming in at #21, metal icons Metallica earned $66.5 million. The band's bassist, Robert Trujillo, is of Mexican descent.
