Number of migrants rescued on Arizona border increases
The Border Patrol reported an 80 percent increase in the number of immigrants rescued in the Arizona border during the current fiscal year.
From last Oct. to Jan., a total of 81 immigrants have been rescued, compared to 45 in the same period last year.
According to the Border Patrol, the increase of security on the border has lead immigrants who are looking to cross illegally to look for more risky ways of doing so.
Overall, the number of detentions of undocumented immigrants has decreased 35 percent.
