The Latin Grammy gala began in their 19th edition on Thursday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, where Colombian J Balvin, with eight nominations, and Spain's Rosalia, with five nominations, start as favorites.
       
Will Smith, Marc Anthony and Bad Bunny opened the ceremony with a live performance of the song "Esta rico".
       
Actress Ana de la Reguera is the host of the ceremony along with singer Carlos Rivera.
       
Among the artists who will perform live throughout the evening are J Balvin, Rosalia, Ozuna, Monsieur Perine, Carla Morrison, Calibre 50, El David Aguilar, Jorge Drexler, Kany Garcia, Mon Laferte, Natalia Lafourcade, Victor Manuelle, Banda Los Recoditos, Sebastian Yatra, Halsey, Angela Aguilar, Pablo Alboran, Karol G, Carlos Vives, Mana, Nicky Jam and Steve Aoki.
       
Nominations in the category of Album of the Year are "Prometo" by Pablo Alboran, "Vibras" by J Balvin, "Caravanas" by Chico Buarque, "Salvavidas de hielo" by Jorge Drexler, "Siguiente" by El David Aguilar and "Soy yo" by Kany Garcia.
       
Also competing in this same category are "Musas:Un homenaje al Folclore Latinoamericano en Manos de Los Macorinos, Vol. 2" by Natalia Lafourcade; "Mexico por Siempre" by Luis Miguel; "Encanto tropical" by Monsieur Periné; and "Cuando el rio suena" by Rozalen.
       
Nominations for the Song of the Year are "Antes de ti", by Mon Laferte; "Bailar contigo", by Monsieur Perine; "Danza de gardenias", by Natalia Lafourcade and Los Macorinos; "Embrujo", by El David Aguilar; "La puerta violeta", by Rozalen; and "Malamente", by Rosalia.
       
Also "Para siempre", by Kany Garcia; "Robarte un beso", by Carlos Vives and Sebastian Yatra; "Telefonia", by Jorge Drexler; and "Tu vida mi vida", by Fito Paez are nominated in the same category.
       
In the category Record of the Year nominations are "No vaya a ser" by Pablo Alboran; "E Fake (Homem Barato)" by Anadi; "Mi gente" by J Balvin with Willy William; "Internacionales" by Bomba Estereo; "Telefonia" by Jorge Drexler; and "Para siempre" by Kany Garcia.
       

In the same category, they will be joined by Nicky Jam & J Balvin's "X"; Natalia Lafourcade and Los macorinos' "Gardenias Dance"; Monsieur Perine's "Dancing with You"; and Rosalia's "Malamente".

  
The Record of the Year award recognizes the achievements of artists, producers, and musicians, while the Song of the Year awards composers.
       
Likewise, Angela Aguilar, Anaadi, El David Aguilar, Alex Ferreira, Karol G, Los Petitfellas, Nana Mendoza, Christian Nodal, Claudia Prieto, and Benjamin Walker will compete for the Latin Grammy for the Best New Artist.
