The Chinese Lantern Festival opened Tuesday at Franklin Park with a wonderful variety of displays to see. For the next few weeks, the square will glow with over 25 larger-than-life illuminated lantern displays of around 1,500 sculptures and over 13,000 LED lights.

In addition, people will also see cultural performances such as acrobats and folk dancers, taste some Asian cuisine, as well as watch various painting and drawing techniques done by expert artists.  It is fun for the whole family! The Festival runs through June 11th from 6-10pm daily and until 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Go to www.historicphiladelphia.org/chineselanternfestival for more information.
