“We are proud to have earned another 5-star recognition from CMS, and believe it reflects our commitment to providing our members outstanding service, support, and access to high-quality health care,” said Independence Blue Cross President and CEO Gregory E. Deavens. “This accomplishment validates the advantage of our team’s collaborative approach to engaging members and delivering valuable and reliable benefits.”
CMS star ratings are published annually, providing the public with a scorecard on plan quality and performance measures (such as member compliance with preventive care and screening recommendations, chronic condition management, customer service, access to care, and more).
“Only a few Medicare Advantage plans in the whole country receive a 5-out-of-5-star rating in any given year,” says Dr. Heidi Syropoulos, medical director for Government Markets at Independence. “The fact that Keystone 65 HMO earned this rating for two consecutive years is a truly remarkable accomplishment. It’s a testament to our team’s ongoing commitment to provide our members with high-quality, affordable plans, stellar customer service, and access to first-rate care.”
In addition to quality and support, a 5-star rating provides the freedom of a special election period, allowing current Medicare members to switch into one of our Keystone 65 HMO plans from now through November 30, 2023.
