Governor elect Tom Wolf announced today the names of about 300 individuals, among them some Latinos, who will be part of his transition review teams.
Governor elect Tom Wolf announced today the names of about 300 individuals, among them some Latinos, who will be part of his transition review teams. That's on top of other teams such as the Transition Steering Committee and the Budget Deficit and Fiscal Stabilization Task Force.
Pedro Rivera, Superintendent of the School District of Lancaster has been named co-chair of the education team, among other members like Sonia Vasquez, Principal of Donegan Elementary School in Bethlehem.
Johnny Irizarry, director of the Center for Hispanic Excellence: La Casa Latina at the University of Pennsylvania, will be part of the higher education team.
Former Secretary of the Commonwealth, Pedro Cortes, will be co-chair of the state transition review team.
Peter Gonzales, President & CEO of the Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians, will be part of the labor and industry team.
Peter Crespo, Executive Chief of the Philadelphia Fire Department, will be part of the transition review team for the Pennsylvania Emergency Managament Agency.
Francis Acosta, city council president of Reading, will be part of the transition review team for drug and alcohol programs.
Beyond community and economic development, housing, health, human services, and transportation, the list includes an extensive variety of teams in the following areas:
Aging, agriculture, banking, conservation and natural resources, environment protection, fish and game, general services, insurance, military and veterans affairs, revenue.
Wolf also named members of his transition review teams for the State Police and the Public Utilities Commission.
