Telemundo62/WWSI has found a new weather anchor in Janet Bolívar.

She will join the station as the weather anchor for Noticiero Telemundo62.

Bolívar will be on air weekday evenings at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 11 p.m., joining Alberto Rullán and Belén Smole. The latter recently joined WWSI last month.

Ana Hernandez, news director for Telemundo62 expressed excitement about Bolívar’s addition to the Telemundo62 family.

“She is a fully bilingual, multimedia journalist specializing in weather forecasting whose extensive broadcast experience will be a great asset in serving our audience,” said Hernandez of Bolívar.

Bolívar is a four-time Emmy award winner, and is no stranger to Telemundo stations.

She joins Telemundo62 from KTMD-TV, Telemundo Houston where she served as a weather anchor for more than three years.

Prior to joining Telemundo Houston, she worked as a weather anchor and field weather reporter at Telemundo Arizona for two years.

Before she joined Telemundo, Bolívar worked over five years as a journalist for GFR in San Juan, Puerto. There, she reported on and wrote about a variety of topics, including fashion, beauty, celebrity interviews, breaking news, and cultural features.

Bolívar was born in Puerto Rico to a Cuban mother and Puerto Rican father.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Puerto Rico and a master’s degree in international communication from Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico.

Bolívar is currently pursuing her meteorology certification at Mississippi State University.

Her first official day with Telemundo62 will be Monday, April 18, 2022.
