On Tuesday, June 23rd, temperatures are expected to rise into mid 90s along the interstate 95 corridor and surrounding areas — the Philadelphia metropolitan area included.
City Health Commissioner James Buehler has declared a heat advisory from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The highest temperatures are expected to last through mid-afternoon and will be followed by thunderstorms.
Buehler doesn’t consider it necessary to initiate special heat response programs, but does encourage citizens to take some extra precautions especially if they work or spend time outside: reschedule activities, drink plenty of fluids and take frequent breaks.
Buehler also remind parents and pet owners not to leave children and pets inside of parked cars.
