South Street Spring Festival returns to South Street Headhouse District on May 2 for the third year.
The all-day, free outdoor festival spans eight blocks (Front and 8th streets). From 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., South Street will be closed down to feature music from 40 local bands and musicians, food, drinks, art, more than 100 vendors, and various family-friendly activities.
More than 30 restaurants, bars and food trucks will serve signature and special dishes and drinks during the festival. Some of the participants include Tuk Tuk Real, Bistro Romano, Copabanana, Bridget Foy's, Sweet Life Bakeshop, and The Twisted Tail.
Headhouse Plaza (between South and Lombard) will be transformed into a lawn concert area with grass, lawn chairs, games, beach balls and more.
In conjunction with the South Street Spring Festival, German restaurant and beer hall, Brauhaus Schmitz, will hold Maifest, a traditional Deutsch festival, full of German beers, food, dancing, and Philly's largest May Pole.
