Soon, you'll no longer be able to catch trains at Market East station. SEPTA sold the Center City station's name to Jefferson Health System, and the old Market East will share the hospital's name.
As confirmed by Philadelphia Inquirer this week, the deal would bring millions of dollars to the authority while increasing public exposure of Thomas Jefferson hospital located only a few blocks from the station.
This is the second transportation center to be sponsored by a company in the city after AT&T Station in South Philly, giving rise to a profit of several million dollars for SEPTA.
