Preschools visit City Hall in anticipation to 'Soda Tax' vote
In anticipation of the possible City Council vote on the “soda tax” proposal, the Public Citizens for Children and Youth (PCCY) organization gathered dozens of pre-schoolers in support of universal pre-K expansion in Philadelphia schools.
The event was held on Wednesday as City Council members were invited to meet and greet the students. At the same time, the Philadelphians Against the Grocery Tax Coalition held a rally outside City Hall urging council members to reject the mayor’s "soda tax” proposal.
