Phillies catcher Carlos Ruiz, his Philadelphia Phillies teammates, local celebrities, businesses and other donors participated in the 15th Annual “Get in the Game” fundraiser on April 23.
“Get in the Game” is a bowling tournament and fundraiser, for Philadelphia Futures, a nonprofit organization. Proceeds from the event supports the college ambition of Philadelphia’s low-income, first-generation-to-college students by providing them with the resources and opportunities to be admitted and succeed in college.

This year, more than 400 guests attended the event in the newly opened South Bowl. In addition to the bowling tournament, guests walked along a red carpet, participated in “Be a Phanatic” raffle and live auction, and enjoyed food and a musical performance by the Mummers.
For the fifth year, Ruiz hosted the event. Throughout the history of the fundraiser, “Get in the Game” has raised $2 million for Philadelphia Futures’ students.
