Winter is coming, which means the flu is right around the corner. The Philadelphia Department of Public Health is offering free flu shots for residents.
Flu shots will be available in different parts of the city. The Centers of Disease Control (CDC) recommend a yearly influenza shot for everyone 6 months and older and, if it’s possible, to get the shot by October, before flu season begins.
Residents should bring their ID, a proof of residency and their insurance card (if they have one). For those who don’t have an insurance, the shot will be free.
You can see the list of health centers where the flu vaccine is available in the city at www.phila.gov/health/diseasecontrol/shotschedule.html.
