Pennsylvania organizations receive grant to promote 500 years of Latino history
Kutztown University, Lancaster Public Library Lancaster, Reading Area Community College, Muhlenberg College and Lower Macungie Library are among the grantees.
Five Pennsylvania organizations were selected along with another 200 across the nation to receive a grant and participate in “Latino Americans: 500 Years of History,” a program that seeks to facilitate discussion in their communities about Latino history and culture.
Kutztown University, Lancaster Public Library, Reading Area Community College, Muhlenberg College and Lower Macungie Library are among the organizations that will receive a $3,000 programming grant, while others will receive $10,000.
All grantees will receive a copy and public performance rights to screen “Latino Americans,” a PBS award-winning, six-part documentary series; promotional materials to support local outreach; and access to additional programming.
“Latino Americans: 500 Years of History”, a public programming initiative produced by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and the American Library Association (ALA), is part of a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) initiative, The Common Good: The Humanities in the Public Square.
