The School District of Philadelphia (SDP) launched its annual special registration and assessment for students who speak a language other than English.
Families will be given support to complete the new student registration process at the District’s Multilingual Assessment Center (MAC), located at 440 North Broad Street, 1st Floor, Suite 1195.
Registration opened Aug. 4 and will continue through Aug. 29.
Staff will be available to walk parents through the registration process, provide resources and information about the school district, and screen students in need of English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) services.
Any student that speaks a language other than English is welcome to seek assistance with registering and evaluation. According to SDP, last year the office registered and assessed more than 800 students including students from more than 70 countries, speaking more than 40 different languages.
The office is open for registration Monday thru Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. For more information contact the Multilingual Assessment Center at 215-400-4240.
