On Wednesday, July 13, Rite Aid officially unveiled its brand new headquarters at the Navy Yard in Philadelphia.

Its official name is the Rite Aid Collaboration Center.

Located on the second floor of 1200 Intrepid Avenue, the new Rite Aid Collaboration Center is designed to bring Rite Aid’s remote corporate workspace and associates together in a modern space with state-of-the-art amenities.

“The new collaboration space represents how we are modernizing our brand from the inside out,” said Heyward Donigan, Rite Aid President and CEO, in a press release.

“We are not only transforming our business to better serve our customers, but we are embracing new ways of working that blends a remote-first corporate workforce with opportunities for in-person collaboration,” she added.

The new headquarters includes accessibility to major transportation, offers teams across Rite Aid’s various businesses, space to meet, collaborate and engage clients and partners, and cultivate strong professional relationships with the goal of serving as “the bedrock for successful remote teams.”

Donigan noted that she and her team are proud to join the Philadelphia community, and continue the overarching mission of improving health outcomes for its customers and communities.

Mayor Jim Kenney was also at hand for the official opening.

“We are proud that Rite Aid has decided to make Philadelphia its new corporate home with this new collaboration center for its workforce,” he said. “We welcome them to our great city and look forward to working together in serving the health care needs of our communities.”

The 23,000 square-foot Collaboration Center was designed by Wynnewood-based Meyer Design, and features a variety of conference room styles with digital Neat Boards for video conferencing, a digital/video studio, a Genius Bar to support IT news, and associated amenities.

This includes a catering kitchen, multiple food and beverage stations, a business center and a respite room for nursing, prayer and meditation.

In addition to the new Collaboration Center being used as a place for meetings within the company, the Navy Yard location will also be used to host clients, consultants and suppliers.

The unveiling of the new Rite Aid headquarters marks the latest development in the Navy Yard’s plan to build equitable growth in the area.

Rite Aid previously had its headquarters in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.

This year marks Rite Aid’s 60th anniversary, as the chain opened its first store — originally called Thrift D Discount Center in Scranton, Pennsylvania, in 1962.

Currently, Rite Aid has 2,350 stores across 17 US states, 223 of those stores are located in Philadelphia and its surrounding areas, and features a workforce of more than 50,000 employees.
