National Dominican Student Conference lands in Philly
The 9th edition of the conference is hosted by el Grupo Quisqueyano from March 27 to the 29 at the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn).
For the first time since its inception, the National Dominican Student Conference (NDSC) is coming to Philadelphia
The annual event was created to build social and academic support networks within the Dominican community, as well as to provide high quality in educational workshops, inspirational speakers, art exhibitions and networking events for the Dominican college student community.
The idea of a national conference was first proposed at a Dominican Student Association – QuisqueYalies meeting in 2007, by Jamil Abreu, who co-chairs the conference along with Lariely Garcia.
This year the workshops range from “Pelo Bueno vs Pelo Malo: The split ends of our culture,” and “Ferguson and the Afro Latino political state,” to “Relaciones de todos los colores: A deeper look into LGBT relationships in the Dominican community.”
The 9th edition of the conference is hosted by el Grupo Quisqueyano from March 27 to the 29 at the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn).
