Mayor Nutter, along with other festival representatives, revealed the lineup for the Wawa Welcome America! Philly 4th of July Jam concert on the morning of May 26 during a press conference in the African American Museum.

Pop-R&B singer Miguel and Country singer Jennifer Nettles will join Philly-based The Roots during the concert before the traditional fireworks display that ends the Wawa Welcome America! festival.

“The City of Philadelphia is proud to welcome such a diverse and talented group of musicians to our city this Fourth of July,” Mayor Nutter said. “With this stellar lineup, ranging from hip-hop and R&B to country, the 2015 Philly 4th of July Jam is sure to be one of the best yet. The events we have planned for the entire Wawa Welcome America! festival, including the impressive concert on the Fourth, will prove to the world what we have always known - that Philadelphia is the foremost place to celebrate our nation’s birthday.”

The Wawa Welcome America! festival takes places from June 27 to July 4 with various family fun-filled activities including Wawa Hoagie Day on July 2, the Liberty Block Party in Historic Philadelphia section on July 3, the Philadelphia Orchestra Neighborhood Concert on July 2, the Independence Day Parade on July 4, and much more.

The festival will also offer free admission to museums like the Franklin Institute (June 29), Philadelphia History Museum (June 30), the African American Museum in Philadelphia (July 1) and the National Constitution Center (July 2), as well as free film screenings of Big Hero 6 (June 29), Annie (June 30), Rocky (July 1) and The Sixth Sense (July 2).
