The commemoration of the 204th anniversary of Mexico’s Independence was held at Penn's Landing with the traditional “Grito” ceremony and new entertainment features for the whole family.
The festival was celebrated on Sunday, Sept. 14 at Penn's Landing. In addition to Mexican artists and musicians, several restaurants in the region competed for the title of the "Best taco in Philadelphia." The winner of the title was 'Tacos El Rodeo', a food truck located on 9th Street and Washington Ave.
Carlos Giralt-Cabrales, consul of Mexico in Philadelphia, lead for the fifth consecutive year the most traditional part of the Mexican Independence Festival: “El Grito.”
