Make your voice heard at the final River Wards planning meeting
Discuss the future shape of the Lehigh Avenue corridor, the Port Richmond Gateway, and the Aramingo Shopping District.
The third and final district planning meeting for the River Wards will be held Tuesday night. This is the last chance to have some input on the ways to improve your neighborhood — from access to green space to controversial zoning permits.
Tired of watching things change without anyone asking what you think? Come out and discuss.
What is it?
At the last meeting, River Ward residents chose three focus areas for the area’s improvement plan: the Lehigh Avenue corridor, the Port Richmond Gateway, and the Aramingo Shopping District.
Tomorrow’s meeting will be an open house style gallery, with different boards assigned to the various projects. You can talk to plan leaders and make your comments on the boards.
There will also be additional topics — the Market-Frankford line — which will be taken into consideration as the district’s plan moves forward.
Input from tomorrow’s meeting will be put into a larger project draft; it will not be the final shape of the River Ward’s development plan. There will still be a whole month for people to comment on the plan before it is finalized.
Can I attend? If you live in or nearby Fishtown, Olde Richmond, East Kensington, Kensington (north to K&A), Port Richmond or Bridesburg, then your voice is welcome. If you don’t live in these areas, you can find out about your own district’s planning meetings here.
