On Aug. 15, some local animal shelters have decided to waive all adoption fees (spay/neuter fees) in honor of "Clear the Shelters" Day. This day is part of an initiative by NBC-owned stations, like Telemundo62 and NBC10, to get more people to adopt dogs and cats in animal shelters.
“When you adopt an animal from a shelter, you save a life,” Ric Harris, president and general manager of NBC10 and Telemundo62, said in a statement. “Many people don’t realize that there are so many loving and adoptable animals in shelters and rescue groups throughout our region. NBC10 and Telemundo62 are proud take part in this national effort to find loving homes for pets, while also shedding light on the importance of shelter adoption.”
