Former students, parents, teachers and administrators of the closed Fairhill Elementary school gathered to celebrate and remember their beloved school with a “Fun Day at Fairhill” event on May 1.

The “Fun Day at Fairhill” event featured speeches by former students, teachers and principals of Fairhill, food prepared by the school’s former kitchen staff, games, dancing, crafts and more.

The event concluded with a procession of materials from the school brought to Temple University’s Tyler School of Art. The project, called reFORM, will take those materials and reassemble them into an art installation by Philadelphia artist Pepón Osorio. The installation will be open to the public on August 21.
