The Era of Prohibition and how it changed the United States forever
The critically acclaimed exhibit that brings the story of Prohibition vividly to life returns for a limited engagement at the National Constitution Center
The Prohibition era had a huge impact in the United States. From the early anti-alcohol campaigns that professed "temperance" - meaning everything from drinking in moderation to complete abstinence. By the early 1800's the United States was nearly drowning in liquor. From having a hard cider after a hard days work or those people who were more wealthy who went to local hotel rooms or fancy dinner parties.
The exhibit "American Spirits" returns to the national Constitutional Center by popular demand with various of artifacts like paraphernalia from the temperance movement to actual moonshine devices used during Prohibition. The exhibition runs until July 30th. For more information on times and price, go to constitutioncenter.org
