A familiar face will be hosting the third annual AL DÍA 40 Under Forty event in August.

Loraine Ballard Morrill, the award-winning news and community affairs director at iHeartMedia Philadelphia, has agreed to emcee the event for the third year in a row.

“I’ve come away from each AL DÍA 40 Under Forty inspired by each of the awardee’s extraordinary stories,” Ballard Morrill wrote to AL DÍA in an email.

The annual AL DÍA 40 Under Forty shines a light on some of the most diverse and impactful young professionals and young leaders throughout the Philadelphia region.

The past two years of nominations and honorees has quantified and qualified just how talented and bright the region’s young professionals are.

From business and community leaders to media professionals to influencers, innovators, artists and more, Philadelphia is plush with bright and talented individuals who are playing an integral role in moving the region forward.

“It’s an honor to be part of such a wonderful event that highlights the next generation of leaders. I am always deeply impressed with how these young leaders are already making their mark,” said Ballard Morrill.

The criteria for those named honorees have been: under the age of 40, involvement in their community, career achievements, academic credentials and meaningful contributions to their industry.

This year, 40 more individuals will have their name added to the list of AL DÍA 40 Under Forty honorees — bringing the total to 120.

“It’s important to shine a light on these young leaders,” added Ballard Morrill. “Their lived experience informs their leadership, which we vitally need if we are to be a truly inclusive society.”

The final selection will be determined by a panel of 10 esteemed judges across different industries, whom, similar to the honorees, reflect the diverse talent of our workforce and professional landscape.

The honorees for the 2022 class of AL DÍA 40 Under Forty will be announced at a later date.

“At a time when news can be overwhelming, events like these that highlight the best of us keeps me going and gives me hope for our future as a City and a Nation,” said Ballard Morrill.

The 2022 AL DÍA 40 Under Forty will take place Friday, August 26, 2022, at the Vie by Cescaphe, beginning at 5:30 p.m. For more details or to register for the event, click here
