The violent attack against a gay couple in the area of Center City has urged legislators to stop hate crime attacks on members of the LGBT community
According to the Daily News, the bill would add a new chapter to the city code, providing tougher penalties for hate crimes provoked by racism, bigotry and intolerance towards members of the LGBT community.
It is expected that the bill will be introduced today at the City Council session.
