Social entrepreneur and business guru Charlie Garcia visited Philadelphia as part of the AL DÍA News National Speaker Series; he talked about the impact of Latino population growth as a competitive advantage for the country and the power of mentorship and education in the Latino community.
Currently the CEO of ALPFA—Association of Latino Professionals For America — Garcia was introduced by Richard Negrin, Philadelphia’s managing director. Other presenters included Javier Suarez, President of ALPFA’s Philadelphia Chapter, and Hernan Guaracao, CEO of AL DÍA News.
More than 60 guests were in attendance Thursday for the event at the Union League of Philadelphia.
The event was made possible by presenting sponsor, Independence Blue Cross, and friend of AL DÍA sponsor, PHLDiversity.
The AL DÍA National Speaker Series highlights national Latino leaders at quarterly luncheons at the Union League of Philadelphia, convening a diverse audience of regional leaders who shape political, economic, cultural, and education policy.
