Months ago, Darrin Manning's mother tearfully worried that a Philadelphia police stop-and-frisk ruined her son's future chances of attending college. If Philadelphia District Attorney Seth William continued to press felony charges against the Mathematics Civics and Sciences Charter School student, Manning could end up with a record that disqualified him from obtaining much-needed financial support.

Manning alleged that police had stopped him without justification on his way to basketball practice and assaulted him during a pat down so rigorous that doctors at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia suspected that his testicle was ruptured, recommending emergency surgery. During surgery, doctors discovered that the injury was a blood clot.

The assault ended with Manning's arrest as well as felony and misdemeanor assault charges.

Today, attorney William Buckman revealed that the District Attorney's office has reached an agreement and the juvenile charges against Manning have been "resolved."

No word yet on whether a civil rights case will be filed against the female officer allegedly responsible for Manning's injury.
