The 18th annual AL DÍA career fair is set to provide the diverse residents of Philadelphia and beyond with valuable opportunities.

AL DÍA is welcoming partnerships with local companies to connect with the best and brightest diverse talent to hire workforces that accurately reflects our market.

However, while the day will allow for exhibitors and attendees to exchange information, the priority is for the impact of the career fair to be long-lasting. That much was expressed during the Career Advisory Board Meeting that took place on Thursday.

Pedro Rodriguez, Director of the Office of Human Resources of the City of Philadelphia, and one of the members of the advisory board, suggested that the attendees at the career fair should be afforded the opportunity to spend more time with employers.

“People want to remain engaged by receiving additional information on future employment,” he said.

A successful career fair is beneficial for both sides -- the exhibitors and attendees. For exhibitors, they are afforded the chance to learn about the diverse people who make up the city of Philadelphia. For attendees, they get the chance to learn about several job and career opportunities provided throughout the city all in one place in the matter of a few hours.

Once those hours are up, and the career fair is over, there will still be those who will need additional information. That’s why this career fair is providing employers and job seekers with the opportunity to meet, learn from each other, but also have a chance to build a connection for down the line.

The career fair will take place on April 25, 2019 at the PA Convention Center from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Admission is free, but registration is required.  Attendees are encouraged to upload resumes upon registration, and also bring 20-30 copies of their resume. Registrants will have the chance to interact with recruiters, learning more about the companies and their open positions, as well as tell the recruiter about themselves and their professional experience.
