Chef Jose Garces to open a new restaurant at the Wells Fargo Center
The Iron Chef has a long line of restaurants in Philly, with the upcoming Garces Eats being his newest one.
Iron Chef Jose Garces is opening yet another restaurant in Philadelphia, called Garces Eats. The location will be inside of the Wells Fargo Center and will officially open its doors this October.
Garces Eats will be replacing The Bistro Stand inside of the center. The new eatery will offer an abundance of Mexican and Spanish inspired cuisine, which Garces serves on a daily basis at his other restaurants in Philadelphia.
Some classic Garces staples that will be on the menu include his well-known smash burgers and buffalo cauliflower with buttermilk ranch and gin pickled celery.
Other dishes that Garces will be cooking up include chile braised beef and Adobo Chicken.
Garces explained that the new business concept is the perfect opportunity for him to bring casual and flavorful eats to the center.
“Having the opportunity to bring my Garces Eats concept to the Club Level has been hugely exciting for me,” said Garces. “At its core, Garces Eats is intended as an extension of my personal test kitchen & studio, where I will be bringing the best of handheld and bowl based foods from around the world to one of the most dynamic event venues in the country.”
Valerie Camillo, President of Wells Fargo Center, stated that the eclectic assortment of foods will bring many customers to its doors.

“Wells Fargo Center offers incredible food and beverage options, including many from local chefs, and we’re honored to feature some of Chef Garces’ famous dishes for our fans starting this fall,” said Camillo. “With his rotating menu, guests will be treated to something new and exciting during each visit, and this is just another way that the new Wells Fargo Center offers the best guest experience in the world with a Philly twist.”
Garces Eats isn't the only restaurant that the Iron Chef is opening up this year. He has at least two other eateries in the works, including a Buena Onda in Center City, opening in August, and another Buena Onda opening in September in Radnor Township.
Garces promises that the new restaurant will be an extension of his other restaurants, which means it will offer a warm, welcoming, and hospitable atmosphere.
The new restaurant is a part of the $350 million Transformation of Wells Fargo Center initiative and is a representation of the brand new club level opening this Fall.
In addition to Garces Eats, the new club level will offer a premium entrance and lounge, new seating options and open-floor layout. The investment will also have exclusive retail and themed whiskey and tequila bars.
