If you’re a fan of fried chicken and sandwiches, you’re in for a treat as a new restaurant option is soon coming to Philadelphia.

Big Chicken, a fast-casual restaurant launched by Shaquille O’Neal, will open a Philadelphia location at the Comcast Center concourse next month.

According to its website, “Big Chicken fuses O’Neal’s home-cooked childhood favorites with today’s trending flavors.”

The main menu includes a selection of different sandwiches, including the Uncle Jerome (Nashville hot chicken, lettuce, mayo & pickles); the M.D.E. (a chicken sandwich with Shaq sauce and pickles); The Big Aristotle (a chicken sandwich with muenster cheese, crispy fried onion, sweet & smokey Memphis BBQ sauce).; and the Shaq Attack (pepper jack cheese, jalapeño slaw, spicy chipotle BBQ sauce). It also includes such as popcorn chicken, tenders, sliders, and salads.

The sides include fries, sweet potato fries, and Cheez-It crusted mac and cheese; while it’s dessert menu includes hand-crafted ice cream shakes, and cookies.

“Each menu item tells a story all while offering guests an inside look into the life and personality of Shaquille O’Neal,” the website reads.

Since retiring from the NBA in 2011 after 19 seasons, O’Neal has been an investor in various food franchises. They include Papa John’s (of which he also serves on its board), Auntie Anne’s, Five Guys, and Krispy Kreme.

Big Chicken marks his first official venture as a franchisor, opening its first location in Las Vegas in 2018. He’s partnering with JRS Hospitality and Authentic Brands Group for the chicken concept.

As of now, there are 18 Big Chicken locations across the United States.

Expected to open at the Comcast Center concourse in downtown Philadelphia in April, Big Chicken will soon join Buena Onda, Di Bruno Bros., Panda Express, Philly Steak Co., Termini Bros., and others.

The new location will operate between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays.

The Comcast Center concourse is at 1701 JFK Boulevard in Center City Philadelphia.
