Robotics, Agentics, and Quantum Computing: Five Tech Trends for 2025
Implementing new technologies will continue to accelerate, leading to increased daily interactions between ordinary citizens and machines.
Two years ago, ChatGPT, the first generative artificial intelligence search engine, disrupted the market. This event marked a significant turning point in people's engagement with technology. But it is only the beginning of the story.
"As of March 2024, the top 40 generative artificial intelligence tools attract nearly 3 billion visits per month from hundreds of millions of users. ChatGPT alone commanded 82.5 percent of the traffic, yet reaching only one-eightieth of Google’s monthly visits," explains the report "Who on Earth Is Using Generative AI?" by the World Bank, prepared by experts Yan Liu and He Wang. This raises important questions about the future of technology and its impact on our daily lives.
A group of experts from Globant, a leading software services company, has ranked the five major technology trends for 2025. Here are the results:

1. Quantum Computing
According to Carlos Ortiz, Globant's Vice President of Technology, the development of quantum computing will accelerate in 2025. Quantum computing exponentially increases the computational capacity of machines by applying principles of quantum physics. In traditional computing, data is constructed from combinations of "ones" and "zeros," which represent how power is conducted through the chips. However, quantum computing allows data to exist in both states simultaneously or across multiple values between zero and one, leading to greater efficiency in computation. The quantum computing market is projected to reach $8.6 billion by 2027.
2.Agent or Agentic Systems
Agentic systems involve the creation of cybernetic agents that coordinate with one another to improve process efficiency and solve problems. These agents can emulate collaborative environments, function as specialized teams, and deliver more comprehensive and accurate responses to user queries. The advantage of such systems is their ability to interact with each other as naturally as humans do.
3. Robotics
In the near future, robots will be available as a service, with companies renting groups of robots to those in need for specific tasks. This capability will stem from their achieving type 3 consciousness, allowing them to self-manage, coordinate, understand context, and make appropriate decisions.
4. Synthetic Humans
These refer to digital avatars—artificially created representations of people. Advances in technology will enable interactions with these synthetic individuals, who can provide accurate and contextual responses during conversations.
5. Invisible Experiences
Technology will continue to evolve to the point where it can be seamlessly integrated into our lives without us even being aware of it. This represents a new level where technology is employed without friction. Examples include smart glasses and smartwatches that receive commands intuitively and carry out specific activities effortlessly.
