The new Starz series Nacho was inspired the life of Spanish pornstar Nacho Vidal and wants to tell the realities of the adult film industry in a lighter way.
It is produced by Bambú and created by Teresa Fernández-Valdés, Gema R. Neira and Diego Sotelo.
Fernández-Valdés, producer and creator of the series, told El Colombiano that after her research on the main character, she realized that Nacho was very intelligent, "who loves life, who constantly challenges himself, who needs adrenaline every morning to feel alive and who is not afraid of death."
"Nacho Vidal has decided to live his life to the limit and I think he could be either in jail or dead and the truth is that no, he is free of charges and enjoying his life with three children, leading a really ordinary life, beyond the fact that he is dedicated to the sex industry," she continued.
Martiño Rivas (Las chicas del cable and El Internado) plays Vidal, while María de Nati (El buen patrón) is Sara Bernat, a fellow pornstar and the ex-partner of Nacho.
Fernández-Valdés said that "this type of production completes something for those who watch it, as a way of channeling a desire," because "there is part of the consumption of porn that has to do with fattening that fantasy of something that maybe you will never do, but that you enjoy in the hands of others."
The eight-episode series, which also stars Andrés Velencoso, Pepa Chaparro and Edu Soto, will have weekly episodes on Starz.
