John Leguizamo to receive Impact Award at Miami Film Festival
The Colombian actor will be honored alongside Nicolas Cage, Diego Luna and composer Nicholas Britell.
On March 11, Colombian actor John Leguizamo will be honored for his career in film and TV with the Impact Award at the Miami Film Festival. Leguizamo will also screen his new MSNBC series, Leguizamo Does America, at the ceremony.
To date, Leguizamo has more than 75 appearances in film, theater and television productions, including in Romeo + Juliet, Moulin Rouge!, Summer of Sam and Encanto.
Leguizamo Does America, to be released April 16, follows the actor's journey from San Juan, Puerto Rico, to East Los Angeles, making a few stops at various locations to celebrate and honor Latino history, culture and food, Variety reported.

Leguizamo's upcoming work also includes his directorial debut with Critical Thinking at the 2023 SXSW Film Festival and the release of The Power, a film where he stars in alongside Toni Collette on Prime Video.
The 40th edition of the Miami Film Festival is organized by Miami Dade College (MDC) and will present more than 140 productions of diverse genres from 30 countries, including feature films, shorts and documentaries. It also includes more than a dozen world premieres, three North American premieres and seven U.S. premieres.
The festival will be held from March 3 to 12, 2023.
