Miami Film Festival to honor Diego Luna
The Mexican star will get the Variety Virtuoso Award.
The Variety Virtuoso Award, presented at the Miami Film Festival and Variety, will be given to Mexican star Diego Luna on Saturday, March 4 "to celebrate Luna's excellence in acting, directing and producing over the years," festival organizers told EFE.
The festival's programming director, Lauren Cohen, told Variety magazine that Luna is "a global superstar beloved by the Mexican, Latin American and Miami communities."
Cohen also highlighted the breadth of Luna's work throughout his career.

"How many people can say they have worked with directors like Alfonso Cuarón, Steven Spielberg and Gus Van Sant, and at the same time become an integral part of one of the biggest franchises of all time?" said the director.
Luna has yet to comment on the recognition. His fans are more than thrilled.
The Variety Virtuoso Award will be presented to the Mexican actor for the first time at the 40th edition of the festival to be held between March 3 and 12 of this year.
This year, the Miami Film Festival program will feature more than 140 productions from 30 different countries, including feature films, shorts and documentaries.
