Netflix's Christmas movie with a Latino Cast
'Christmas With You' is one of Netflix's new releases for the season.
The new Netflix holiday season movie Christmas With You features great cast of leading Latino actors and actresses, such as Aimee Garcia and Freddie Prinze Jr., alongside an almost all-Hispanic cast.
Freddie Prinze Jr., who is of Puerto Rican descent, plays a Latino character in the film for the first time.
"I'd never done it before, unless I wrote the damn thing," the actor told Yahoo Entertainment. "So when Gabriela brought this to me, all I wanted was the opportunity to earn her respect."

Prinze, in addition to being musically talented, is also fluent in Spanish, which he showcased in the new production to the warm reception of fans.
"I've received nothing but love, from Latino cab drivers to business owners who talk about how it inspires them to see a Latino who doesn't run from the police or deal drugs," Prinze Jr. told Yahoo Entertainment. "But within the industry, I've always been met with a ton of resistance from directors who want to prove my Latino heritage."
The Netflix film was directed by Argentine filmmaker Gabriela Tagliavini and tells the story of a public school music teacher and single father who makes an unexpected Christmas time love connection with a major pop star, Angelina (Garcia).
NBC Palm Springs' Manny The Movie Guy in an interview with the cast, wrote that "Aimee Garcia is a fading diva who is forced to do a Christmas song. She finds her inspiration in a fan, played by Deja Monique Cruz. Her father is played by Freddie Prinze Jr. You can probably imagine how it ends, but the journey is sweet, funny and heartfelt."
With a bilingual script, a sampling of Latin rhythms, food and traditions, Christmas With You is a film that represents Latinidad and the unity of all cultures.
