Scarlett Estevez as Ultra Violet in new Disney Channel series
The young Latina actress will star in the series 'Ultra Violet & Black Scorpion,' which will premiere on Disney Channel.
“When a mysterious wrestling mask chooses Violet, she becomes the superhero ULTRA VIOLET! Eager to become famous, Violet embarks on a mission to collaborate with the inhabitants of the city,” reads the synopsis of the series Ultra Violet & Black Scorpion, which will premiere on June 3, 2022 on Disney Channel.
The series stars the young Latina actress Scarlett Estevez, who stars as Violet Rodriguez. She is able to turn into a feisty superhero after wearing a magical mask. This could be seen in the trailer, which was released this week.
But the young superheroine is not alone in her mission: she is supported by her uncle, Cruz de la Vega, known also known as Black Scorpion, a wrestling trainer who will teach her how to use her special powers. The character is played by JR Villarreal.
Violet must keep her superhero identity a secret from her mother Nina (played by Marianna Burelli), her father Juan Carlos (played by Juan Alfonso), and her brother Santiago (played by Brandon Rossel). Violet's best friend, Maya Miller-Martinez (Zelia Ankrum), plays a key role in the story because she is Violet’s confidant and supports her in documenting her adventures on social media.
Ultra Violet & Black Scorpion was created by American writers and producers Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit. This is not the first time they've worked together. They did it before in The Addams Family 2 and in Pokemon Detective Pikachu.
