“Valladolid. September 1989. The kids David and Layla have just started primary school and they like Hombres G. They also like each other a lot, but since David is so badly advised by his friends, all the things he does to conquer her always end up being a failure. Despite everything, both kids become inseparable and get into bigger and bigger trouble, and even sometimes, when they are together, the impulse to sing and dance the songs of their favorite group is so strong that they use to do it on the street. And that's because they're having a good time,” says the synopsis of the film "I'm going to have a good time" inspired by the song of the Spanish pop group of the '80s Hombres G.

The film not only tells a story of love and friendship developed in 1989, but also a reunion between the two main characters (David and Layla), 30 years later, specifically in 2022. While Layla has consolidated her career as a film director winning an Oscar; David has a normal life without even being famous. Both of them will spend a week together and will realize that “they have never forgotten their childhood together and that’s why they will fight for love and... and have a good time”.

The cast includes Spanish actor Raúl Arévalo and the Mexican Karla Souza, who play David and Layla as adults. Souza said in an interview that she has a special connection with the production, since Hombres G has allowed her to recall her childhood memories. “I remember the bullies at school, the crush, the first kiss. I think Hombres G became just that. I haven't connected with that part of my childhood in a long time and I like to think that people of my generation will be able to do the same," she said.

Besides those actors, IIzan Fernández and Renata Hermida Richards will be playing the role of David as a boy and Layla as a girl, respectively. Dani Rovira, Raúl Jiménez, Jorge Usón and the children Rodrigo Díaz, Rodrigo Gibaja and Michel Herráiz are joining the cast too.

The legendary Spanish pop band Hombres G has also participated in the feature film. All the songs on the feature film have been performed by the members of the group with an orchestra.

The rom-com is directed by the Spanish director David Serrano, who is known in the film and theater industry for “Días de Fútbol”, “El otro lado de la cama”, “Los dos laterales de la cama”, and “Hoy no me puedo levantar”.

This film is produced by El Estudio, in association with Sony Pictures International Productions and Hombres G, in co-production with Les Parapluies Rochefort AIE, Paraíso Torres de Satélite and the participation of Amazon Prime Video and Radio Televisión Española (RTVE).

“Voy a pasármelo bien” will premiere in Spanish theaters on August 12. After its release on the big screen, the feature film is expected to be available on Amazon Prime Video.
