Latina actress Eiza González set to star in new Hulu series
Latina actress Eiza González unites with Gael García and Diego Luna in the series 'La Máquina' on Hulu.
Latina actress Eiza González will play the role of Irasema, an aspiring sports journalist passionate about boxing in the new series, La Máquina, on Hulu. She is the mother of two children and also the ex-wife of the aging boxer Esteban (character played by Gael García Bernal). She has known her ex-partner and Andy (Diego Luna) since they were very young.
La Máquina is a new original production from Hulu.
This series will follow the story of Esteban, who, motivated by his manager (Luna), seeks his last chance to win a boxing title. The road will not be easy for either of them, since they will have to face a powerful and shady organization.
La Máquina will be directed by Gabriel Ripstein, and Marco Ramírez, very well know in the industry for his work on Daredevil, will serve as the showrunner.
The production will is in the hands of Gerardo Gatica, Leandro Halperin, Adam Fishbach, and La Corriente del Golfo, the company co-owned by leading actors Luna and García.

La Maquina is Searchlight Television's third project for Hulu Originals. Searchlight Television, a division of Searchlight Pictures, produces series for streaming platforms and television channels.
Three Mexican actors standing out in Hollywood
This is not the first production in which Mexican actors and friends Luna and García Bernal work together. They had already acted together in the productions Y tu madre tú, Rudo y cursi and Casa de mi padre.
Luna is a theater, film and television actor, director and producer. Throughout his career, he's participated in more than 30 feature films. In 2022, he stars in the Prime Video series Pan y Circo and Andor, set in the Star Wars universe.
Bernal acted in short films and his first feature film appearance was in Amores perros (2000). This year, he will star in Marvel's Halloween special.
González is a young actress who started her career in 2007 and has since worked on productions like Baby Driver, Godzilla vs Kong, Bloodshot and I Care a Lot. On TV, she's played roles in telenovelas such as Lola, Érase una vez, Amores Verdaderos and Una Familia de Tantas.
González lives in Los Angeles and is currently a member of the Academy of Motion Picture, Arts, and Sciences. She is one of the highest-paid Mexicans in the entertainment industry in the United States.
