The performance monologue Cada vez nos despedimos mejor tells the story of Sara and Mateo. Both were born in 1979. Mexican actor Diego Luna, who tells their story, recounts a series of encounters and disagreements that take place before both get to know each other.

When Sara's mother died, she inherited a camera, and decided to become a photojournalist. This new profession led her to travel around Mexico, and document every historical fact. In 1988, in a march after the elections, Sara took the first photograph of her life and Mateo was in it by chance. Both meet and start a relationship that faces complications, tragedies, wars and natural disasters.

“It is a show with an actor and a musician on stage, a monologue told from black humor about love and contemporary relationships, the loneliness of the urban individual, loss, destiny and the need, at all costs, to always have a second chance. Although we always return to ruin it,” reads the performance's synopsis.

Cada vez nos despedimos mejor urges the public to reflect on the meaning of being with another person through time and the need to persist amid difficulties.

The black comedy starring Diego Luna will be presented by the Latin artist in Madrid from June 25 to July 10.

The show is directed by Alejandro Ricaño, winner of the 2008 Emilio Carballido National Playwright Award.
