Puerto Rican queens Ivy Queen and Chesca, exponents of reggaeton and urban pop, headline the Divas Urbanas Unidas lineup along with Afro-Colombian hip-hop vocalist Goyo. The free and virtual concert to be held on April 10 will bring together up to ten more great divas to be announced in the coming weeks.
The aim of the concert is to pay tribute to Latinas who lead the market in a sector as masculine as urban music. The event was born from the promotion of Conciencia Collective with the company Neutrogena with which, in parallel to the tribute, they intend to draw attention to the difficulties of women in certain industries, so it will be accompanied by speeches and trainings.
The broadcast will be free and hosted by Gaby Espino from Downtown Miami at 7:00 p.m. ET, but VIP passes including backstage tours are available for purchase.
"I am extremely grateful to be part of this project that will bring us all together through music," added Ivy Queen. She also intends for it to serve as a reminder: "And for all those who want to break into the urban genre, remember that great stories are born out of the hardest sacrifices".

The co-producer of the concert, Jan Michael Ramery, clarified that "we are very excited to bring you this first digital celebration to honor the Latin divas in the urban genre of music and create a movement that represents diversity in the world and in the music industry today".

Diversity to which Ivy Queen again alludes in her statements: "A few years ago we would not have been able to have enough successful women in the urban genre to count on the fingers of one hand. Now we have plenty to choose from for an event like this".

So the announcement works in a double way, the first of them to expand the offer that we are seeing in recent weeks of digital festivals with which to alleviate what seems to be another summer without major face-to-face events.
Secondly, through marketing, we are showing both a tribute to women's month and a targeting of female audiences.
The situation of women has been profoundly asymmetrical at the corporate level, but it was the result of internal springs of the industry itself rather than a question of audience reception, which has always been given to the divas of the moment.
Let's hope that the industry also knows how to look for that solidarity within itself and until then let's enjoy the parade of urban divas.
