Steve Aoki releases the song "Mambo" through his Latin label uniting influences in three languages from the Dominican Republic, Italy, France and America. He does it with stars of the level of Sean Paul, El Alfa, Sfera Ebbasta and Play-N-Skillz.

Pure electronic mestizaje for the dance floor when summer arrives. Four trilingual minutes that evoke the huge party of cultures that we would like to find on the other side of this pandemic. Nervous flutes and vital percussion for an endless conga.

"The union [...] really gave the song a global feel. At a time when so much is happening, a vibrant song like this is perfect to show that now, in such a complicated year, we are all together," Aoki recounted.

Among his collaborators all of them are world famous stars. Sfera Ebbasta is a young Italian rapper in all the top records of his country. Play-N-Skillz are two producer brothers with their own label who already worked with Aoki and Daddy Yankee on "Azukita". El Alfa is a rapper and dembow singer from the Dominican Republic while Sean Paul is one of the best known Jamaican reggae singers. Willy William is a Franco-Mauritanian singer and DJ.

The union that represents such a Latin theme with global influences, from Europe and Africa, has made some media compare the single with the union generated at the time with Michael Jackson in 1985 and "We are the world".

The musician detected that three decades later and for different reasons a new anthem was needed and for that reason this time he has counted on Latin talent to make a song that could sound beyond the borders, imagining already the Latin and Euro-Afro-Latin music to come.

Steve Aoki was born in Miami in 1977 and grew up in Newport Beach. He has a degree in Sociology and his four Neon Future albums are already electronic music history. He is one of the most respected American DJs and producers worldwide in all rankings.

Since 2021 he has had his own label which he has recently redirected towards the Latin public but which has also influenced his career as can be seen in "Mambo".

A few months ago we reported on the Mexican pop band AQUIHAYAQUIHAY releasing two EPs and fighting the boyband stereotype from Dim Mak. Yesterday we reported Andrekza's collaboration with Carlos Sadness to remix one of the songs featured on the album he also just released with Dim Mak. They are currently preparing the second one and Aoki can be seen dancing to Andrekza's tracks on his social media.
